Gabi & Jules Handmade Pies and Baked Goodness is a bakery that has its flagship location in Port Moody. Our mission is to passionately create exceptional pies and baked goodness in a collaborative environment inclusive of individuals of all abilities. We have an unwavering commitment to using quality, real ingredients to craft unique products that have a playful, memorable twist on tradition.

We are currently hiring a MARKET SPECIALIST to represent Gabi & Jules at various farmers markets and other markets from March through October. While this position is primarily focussed on working at markets, depending on the needs of the individual, this role can be complimented with a customer service / barista position at our bakery.

To be our ideal candidate you have a passion and flair for providing great customer service, be a self-motivated people-person who loves working at outside at markets.

  • you will love pies (but who doesn't?) and will share our love for serving up delicious baked goodness
  • you are strong, able to lift all the items needed to set up a market (tent, tables etc.)
  • you have your drivers license
  • you can work independently, love interacting with customers and can provide engaged, enthusiastic customer service
  • you will possibly have had experience working in a café (and if you’ve worked on a semi-automatic espresso all the better!)
  • you have a strong work ethic and take pride in the work you do.
  • you MUST commit to working 90% of our markets throughout the season which run from March through October. This generally consists on two markets per week but the schedule can vary (specifics will be discussed through the recruitment process)

Your responsibilities will include:

  • loading the market van with baking racks and all other market supplies, driving to and from the market & setting up our booth
  • properly handling all food and enthusiastically representing Gabi & Jules while selling our products
  • greeting every customer with a smile and offering engaged service
  • know and love our products and be able to talk to customers about everything we make
  • must have a valid drivers license

This can either be a part-time or full-time position depending on individual's requirements for hours. Typically the hours available to work at markets are around 20 hours a week but can be upward of 30 depending on the week. This position has the potential to transition from a market specialist to a customer service / barista position when the market season winds down.

Compensation will be based on experience as well a bonus contingent on fulfilling the commitment to working over 90% of the scheduled markets plus tips. Medical & dental benefits after six months of employment.
